Use the real location of the files (HD folder structure) to construct Mendeleu folder structure (colections)
Imagine use the the data of the tree of folder that the user already have (the URL of the files) to build the Mendeley collections folder tree.
Most of the user, before begin to use mendeley, build, over years of research, a extensive tree of folders to organize all the documents.
Mendeley could use these data to build a tree of folders (mendeley collections).
With out this feature is impossible to reorganize thousand of documents that are in a pool (after drag and drop the library folders).
The editions made on the mendeley folders could be implemented on the real folders.
It would help new user to join and love mendeley
I suggest that you implement a feature which allows me to continue in the same situation before I closed Mendeley, all tabs, all subwindows, the pdf readers in the same page position. http://mediaplayersreview.com/mplayer
Now that there are many more platforms similar to Mendeley out there and Mendeley has left the open source realm declining to support portability doesn't "smell too good. http://www.love2drive.co/
In mendeley can be (by option) stored with the pdf (as well as stored in the inner database) is such a disability, that it will very probably prevent many customers. http://mirroredchestofdrawers.org/

But it begin from the HD folder tree to mendeley folder tree
the link suggestion says to begin from the mendeley folder to create HD folders
The two are very good and important !!!
