Show which references in Mendeley have been cited in a Word document

When working on extensive papers allot of papers are read and imported in Mendeley, but there is no way to check whether those papers have actually been cited in a Word Document. Something similar to the check mark that the native Word reference manager uses to identify which articles have been cited in the current document.

Is this idea similar to this one titled:
"When writing a paper, could there be an automatic folder generated with all citations?"
If so, they should be combined, no?

I think there is at least one, maybe two, similar requests. I've made one of them. They should be merged so that it ups the vote count.
Newer versions of EndNote does this and it's very useful when writing a MS with many (hundreds) of references.

Smart folders for paper would be brilliant. Maybe make them linkable to multiple word files so working through drafts wouldn't be a problem
