When move a folder within the library tree, ask for confirmation
I have frequently move the folder without notice, and caused a lot of inconvenience. Should be quite easy to implement, but will greatly help.

Add Mendeley Support to Google Docs
Recently, Google added a Research tool to Google Docs. Since writing a research paper is inherently a collaborative task, it would be useful if Mendeley offered a similar feature through Google Drive open API https://developers.google.com/drive/. It should support the Citation Style Repository, searching PubMed, and Mendeley groups, and allow you to view the metadata associated with the references.

simply put a link on all pages for the user to be able to return to their home Mendeley page.
When navigating around Mendeley, after a while, a user will probably want to return to their OWN home page on Mendeley, and there is no link for that on the other Mendeley pages. I would simply include the link in the upper right hand corner of all Mendeley web pages.

Introduce a feature to 'adopt/import' the reference lists made by other programs
Other researchers use different software. To facilitate exchange of documents and joint editing of manuscripts, it would be useful if the reference lists could be compatible. I foresee at least two options:
- Mendeley references should appear directly between the existing references (probably most difficult option)
- When opening a document with an existing reference list, there should be an option to 'import' this list and to use it further with the Mendeley data base.1 vote -
organize files editor
In the File Organizer preferences panel, it would be useful to have "Editors" as a field (perhaps with an IF NULL logic) that could be used instead of Authors when renaming document files automatically. This is useful for edited volumes, for example.
An alternative would be to create an "Edited Book" record type.

Make Word plugin for footnotes/endnotes (not just bibliography) - or modify existing plugin to enable footnote insertion
Make Word plugin for footnotes/endnotes (not just bibliography) - or modify existing plugin to enable footnote insertion. People in the legal fields heavily use footnotes and would love to be able to use Mendeley!

Allow web upload of pdf files
I would definitely continue to use Mendeley if it were possible to upload papers without having to download the desktop program. I don't want to download the program to every computer I use -especially if I am using someone else's computer- and not being able to use the full functionality severely limits how useful Mendeley is for me.

Extract DOI on "search by title"
If you search by title Mendeley finds a website with the paper, then downloads author and publication metadata. The DOI is almost always listed on these sites and Mendeley obviously is searching out other metadata. Why not search DOI? (sciencedirect.com is the exception, but since Elsevier owns it I would think you could work something out now that they are partners...and the DOI is in the web address on science direct). It doesn't make sense that once I copy in the DOI and do a DOI search I get twice as much metadata automatically filled in than I do when…

Integrate a Task list that allows hyperlinks to Mendeley papers or parts in papers
Expand the "needs review" idea to include a task list that can be hyperlinked to papers in your library. For instance, I read a paragraph with an interesting idea or synthesis I want to try, so I can link that paragraph to my task list. Or a reference looks interesting in a paper but I want to come back to it after reading the first paper.

Mendeley to accept a complete copied citation allow user to link to correct .pdf
Have downloaded specific .pdf, which contains complete citation.

Mendeley Web Importer as a Firefox Add-on
Mendeley need to utilise Firefox Add-on, its a popular web browser, and a really good one at it. Not everyone use bookmark toolbar, personally I see it as a waste of space. I even go to the length of customising the bookmark tollbar to be only 1.5 cm wide, containing only Mendeley Web Importer, abbriavated as MWI and put it next to the search bar. My Firefox has only 2 bars, the minimum it needs to be. Its only 169 characters and Bytes, it can be easily implemented as an add-on, requiring 30x30 pixel (i assume) instead of a whole…

Add compatibility with MacOS built-in translator
Many of MacOS apps like Safari are compatible with built-in translator that allows to look up in dictionaries selected text in 2 clicks. It might be easy to implement and very useful for users of Mendeley.

I suggest we could have a feature of "reference score" The idea is similar to the favorites and read/unread, but we would score our papers
I suggest we could have a feature of "reference score" The idea is similar to the favorites and read/unread, but we would score our papers, in some scale lets say 1 to 10. we would be able to easily see if we should or not re-read a reference or suggest for a friend.

Enable customized organization of articles
1) For files in a specific folder, it will be great to allow users to define their own methods of organizing file other than author, date etc? For instance, allow use to "rank" individual files and then order the files by rank. Right now, we can select some files as "Favorite", but it would be nice to be able to give different rank levels than the two levels of ranks "Favorite" or "Not Favorite".
2) On "Filter", it will be great if users are allowed to define their own filters based on file attribute.
