I suggest you ...

Annotation on iPad

Allow for highlighting and annotating in the iPad app. (Eventually iPhone would be nice too, but less crucial.)

Great work!

Come on! Such a great app for my academic library, but ohhhh sooooo useless for my iPad, where i need it for.....
Hopefully this will be integrated very soon, otherwise I will have to change provider. please come' on. How can your company grow if you completely ignore the mobile community!!!

Yep it's truly sad. Especially when you look at some of the products that are available out there for annotating. I highly recommend Goodnotes, which is the best deal going for annotating pdfs, imho. Set up your Mendeley to sync your pdfs from a Dropbox account, and then you can access them through Goodnotes for annotating. iAnnotate is also a good product from reviews I've read, although I haven't had a compelling reason to switch from Goodnotes, honestly.

And yes please Mendeley people... please get us an iPad app that works! I still can't even get it to load my pdfs.

Well guys I decided to buy iPad specifically for academic reading, I have Mendeley desktop and it didn't even occure to me that annotating may be missing on iPad. It kinda defeats the purpose of the project. As others pointed out - its super useless now.

I agree completely as well. This would make the IPad version a killer.

I agree this is a key future, bought an iPad to avoid printing and taking papers with me, everything is super cool with Mendeley app except that if I can't annotate it gets suddenly super useless!
The highlighting would do for the moment, although integration with iAnnotate would be a plus. I would definitely pay for it and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

This feature is the most important one and it is still missing! At least you should sync and show the notes done with the desktop version

This has been asked for for a very long time, but it still hasn't been added. It is the one reason I don't use Mendeley and I wont until this feature is added. Annotation is the most important feature for any iPad viewer -- much more important than good indexing, group support, and other great features that Mendeley adds. What concerns me is that this app has been around for so long and this support has yet to be added. Part of it is of course the iPad's fault with its non-existant file system. The best way would of course be to annotate in a designated annotation program, of which there are many, and just have these annotations show up in Mendeley, but this is just wishful thinking I'm afraid.

Nevertheless, this is a feature that must be added for this app, and Mendeley in general, to be useful for me.

    Best regards

I agree. If I read pdfs on my tablet i want at least to highlight the text, otherwise the app is useless. also the note function should be included. thx!

As far as I'm concerned if you added this feature, a great app would be perfect. As long as the highlights and annotations migrated back to the desktop.

I used 3 of my 15 votes on this one. Please hire some people to work on the ios app. I'd be willing to pay for it!!!!

PLEASE! this is a MUST! It shouldn't be so hard for you guys! Bring it on!!!

  • Alex Alex commented  ·   ·  Flag as inappropriate

This features a MUST for the app. Should have been included from the start as this allows users to actually use the app for its portability feature of having it on the iPad.

Please, please, please put it to the top of your priority list!
