I suggest you ...

android

An android app to access Mendely from android phones would be welcome (when all bugs in the desktop app are fixed ;-)

An android app will be absolutely essential to my adoption of Mendeley. Almost all the major tablets being released are based on Android, including the new tablet will be selling. At CES there were scores of Android tablets, a handful of Win7 tablets, and... no new Apple tablets. Pricing and features are already putting the Android tablets light years ahead of the next Apple tablet that is due out this spring.

Bottom line is that the future of tablets (and perhaps netbooks too) lies in Honeycomb and Chrome, not Apple.

As many android tablets are on the horizon, it would be great to have it on android tablets.

As a new Android user I'm a bit lost without Mendeley. Hope there is an Android version before someone else beats Mendeley to an app for collection and annotation of pdf's!

The mobile tab in the main page of the website announces that this feature is coming soon, but I cannot see the status "planned" or "started" here. Any news from Mendely team?

This is an awesome service and with an Android version, will be an indispensible academic tool. Should support Android tablets and phones.

If the mendeley-team doesn't have android experts, why don't you guys make a "call for developers"? I'm pretty sure that someone with android experience could create this app within few days.

This app for android will be very usefull.

I think that the Mendeley should really think also to go for opensource that will allow large volunteer developer community to build such apps without waiting for months or years.

..perhaps with barcode scanner and/or goggles integration?

As an alternative, let Evernote watch the Mendeley folder on your desktop. PDF's are automatically imported in Evernote in this way, so all the pdf's are visible on Android.

Or use Dropbox if you like.

Of course this is a temporary solution, but it works for me.
