Office 2010 64 bit plugin

Since Mendeley desktop is not working for the 64 bit version of Microsofts Office 2010 TP, it would be great to build a version of Mendeley Desktop compatible with the 64 bit version of Office 64 bit as soon as possible. The beta phase of Office 2010 is start very soon (November) and that would be a great opportunity to test Mendeley Desktop for this Office version as well.

Over two years of waiting for a dev version of a plugin... I think you should consider employing a programmer who would work the more than an hour a week...

Good work. I installed the word 64 bit plugin and it worked. The software crashed once in the process, but it's totally acceptable considering it's still the development version.
    Thanks again.

@Robert Knight: Well done. I'm delighted to have just downloaded the new version and IT WORKS. I'm so elated. Just to be honest... I downloaded Zotero just yesterday and was planning a migration later on in March. But now... this is all sorted out. Well done to Mendeley Team - although you managed to keep us users biting our finger nails for some time =)

The first Mendeley Desktop 1.5 preview is available. Changes in this release include an updated Word plugin that supports 64bit Word 2010. We have also enabled automatic desktop -> web sync for the preview. It would be just fair to warn people before one spends several hours to build a library on one computer, then realizing it was a waste of time as it isn't functional on another computer.

What are the updates about? Office 2010 64bit plugin is the most important feature that must be addressed, and after releasing version 1.3.2 still see no plugins! That is utterly unacceptable and pushes people like me away from your product.

Its a shame that Mendeley Desktop is still incompatible with the 64 bit version of Office...

Its one of two programs preventing me from using the 64 bit Office suite. The other is MathType however they have now released a Beta and it seems to work perfectly.

I have a machine with 16 GB of RAM and an i7 processor. Unfortunately I have to downgrade the entire Office suite to get Mendeley to work. Having a higher RAM use for Visio and Excel would be good.

Is there any news of a Mendeley 64 bit beta?

2 years 4 months and still no 64-bit plugin? If there was only one person addressing this, it would still be unacceptable.

Have just downloaded Mendeley and it looks great - unfortunately I am another user running 64 bit Windows and Office and cannot see the "Install Word Plugin" option.. Am quite surprised this is still unavailable, have just moved from Refworks and thought this was the solution... Is this likely to be available any time soon. Very frustrating! You potentially have another paying customer about to walk away!

If I have to install a different version of office on my computer, or a different word processor like open office to make mendeley plugin to work, I think I will just install a different reference organizer that works with office 64bits. Mendeley is looking less and less attractive to me everyday....

    I'm almost gone to endnote

I was confused about no plug-in option for my office 2010 64bit. in Mendeley until I find this post. Mendeley is such a good reference tool, very look forward to have this available soon.

I am glad you are working on a 64-bit version of the Word plug-in for Mendeley as it is noticably missing from the tool menu (unfortunately I am running 64-bit Windows 7 AND 64-bit Office 2010). Are you looking to recruit any beta-testers? If so, I'm sure you will have several volunteers from this blog.
