Bug: Many tabs makes window too wide!

When I have more PDF documents open in tabs than the width of the screen allows, the main window gets wider than the screen and cannot be shrunk. Instead what needs to happen is something similar to Firefox's tab management, where the tab area scrolls sideways independently when there are too many tabs to fit comfortably on the window.

    Hi Joey,

You're right. The fix appears to be trivial*. This bug has been neglected for too long. Unless we find any problems the fix will be in the next update.

    * Pending any issues that turn up in further testing

This is a serious drawback. Please fix this problem before trying to enhance other features.

well... perfect.. I do not really like the interface of Mendeley, but suppose that will improve one day

    Hi Marcelo,

'Planned' is exactly what it says - it usually means that we can understand/reproduce the problem and have scheduled it for fixing in the future.

Come on guys!? What is the status of this bug? "Planned" is far too vague.
This is an extremely annoying bug!!
Specially because the PDF's zoom level always follow the window width. Making the problem even worse!!

Also, this issue cannot be bypassed by reading the documents in fullscreen mode, as it maintains the same bigger-than-screen width

I'm struggling to with this problem. It's good that this issue is planned. Thank you!

Yes, please. I love Mendeley, but this really makes usage quite hard.

This really is an issue. Would be great to know when this is going to be fixed. Can't be that difficult, can it?

I hope it will be solved soon :) Good luck and I really like the program. Still figuring out my best workflow for writing in Scrivener, managing my Papers with Mendeley, and references with Citeulike, Mendeley, en possibly Bibdesk. I'm not sure in what program to write up my final draft, but currently using Word for Mac with the Mendeley plugin.

    Best regards,

    Thieme

(To clarify my previous comment, this is a bug. The Mac version should behave like the other two platforms).

This problem affects the Mac version. On Linux and Windows scroll arrows will be added to the tab bar once enough tabs are open.
