  2. Put the install link for the MS Word pugin in a much more obvious place

The plugin is essential to make use of mendeley, but it's whereabouts is not mentioned in the getting started doccument. It is in the most unobvious place - under Tools in Mendeley Desktop. It would make much more sense for the install link to be somewhere prominent online, or at least to mention it in the setup instructions.

  3. Batchwise semi-manual titel-only OCR

right now i use combination of mendeley, Boxoft Screen OCR and browser to fill up all entries with the PMID.

i would like to have a process as the following

    A. Select entries for batch process
    B. every PDF in the batch is
    i. ) opened and the titel is manually boxed
ii. ) OCR of the box, manuell editing or confirmation as query
C.) automated query in pubmed, if matched the PMID is imported as well as other Pubmed metadata.
D.) manual query for the documents that did not get matched in 1-3

B.) is to cluster the manual…

  4. Easy Tagging or Keywording while reading, example "ctrl + highlight/select"

Allow a function like "hold ctrl and highlight word" while reading a document automatically makes that word a tag or user defined keyword for that document. then one does not have to get out of the reading pane and type in tags.

  5. Applied Behavior Analysis & Experimental Analysis of Behavior

Would it be possible to add two new subfields/subcategories under psychology? These would be Applied Behavior Analysis ABA, and Experimental Analysis of Behavior EAB.
These are two growing fields with at least two major professional journals specifically dedicated to them (JABA & JEAB), and which are distinct from the selections you propose. I think it would be appropriate.

  6. stop repeated notifications that file too large and has not been synced

I have a large protocol pdf that I keep in my Mendeley desktop because I like Mendeleys search and note interface, but I get a notification everytime I sync that the file is too large and cannot be synced. It would be great if I could tell Mendeley to not tell me anymore about this particular file not syncing.

  8. Would be useful to have a 'dashboard', or basic mind map tool that can detect key word/tags and display them pictorally.

  10. Extracted Metadata Reflects Selected Format

It's a small complaint for an otherwise great product, but it'd be a tremendous time-saver if the extracted metadata was formatted in our default format.

I use APA 6th edition formatting which requires using uppercase and lowercase letters for journal titles, e.g., The Journal of Chemistry. However, Mendeley extracts the metadata as The journal of chemistry, meaning I have to manually capitalize the words. Also, the first word following a colon is always capitalized in APA format, but Mendeley does not do this.

  12. Broken file links should have their own "file attached" icon

In the Mendeley Desktop browser, in the "file attached" column, if a citation has a broken link to its attached file, it will just show up with no icon. It would be more helpful if it showed up with an icon indicating that it has a broken link, like that shows up in the document details pane.

  15. "Insert citation" and "keyword"

I'm using Mendeley on Word, i wanna sugest to improve the insert citation.

Becasue, when I click insert citation and then popups the "find article" window, I could use many ways to search the articles (author name, year, some part of title). But if i try to searching by "Keyword" nothing happens.

Its possible to add this search by keyword??

  16. help

HELP!! One of the mist important things missing right now is a decent help system -- despite it being on the menu, it doesn't exist!

M developers say they're too busy to cater for LibreOffice, the future of OpenSource Office suites, so they can't handle personalized requests for help surely!

Simple case in point: the Getting Started guide dates back to January 2011 -- 10 minutes ago, yet what's a newbie to make of elements of the GUI like "Unsorted References" (imported from Zotero automatically)? Or inconsistencies between M web version of references and those on the local system --…

  18. In Profile: Do not require degree dates.

Or only the year awarded. It doesn't matter when I started. And if I don't put a month in, don't assume Dec. That doesn't make any sense. (So the previous idea on this topic is not really 'completed'.)

  20. The possibility for image search

A possibility to extract figure information like UWM's biological image search (http://snake.ims.uwm.edu/articlesearch/index.php?mode=figure) in mendeley would be great, i.e figures and text could be displayed outside the individual pdf's when searching for topics.
