This ticket covers several features – some are implemented and some are not yet. To make things clearer please create new suggestions for specific problems with PDF attachment links.

The import problems/issues mentioned earlier by various users including missing PDF import and also missing links (when importing from BibDesk) really are dealbreakers here. Does anybody have a good solution for this? Most potential switch-users have probably thousands of entries they don't want to manually re-edit. Even a work-around (say, via CitesULike or Zotero) might do the trick. Does anybody have any experience with this? I was not lucky so far in my attempts to make a proper switch from my BibDesk edited bibtex file to Mendeley that wouldn't involve manual editing.

Addendum: By "don't work" I mean, when I create a PDF from Lyx using the Mendeley-generated BibTeX file, everything works fine, except for the problem involving the miss-labeling of "Issue" (which is labeled "Number" in BibTeX). I really don't want to re-write all my definition files for this --- this is the standard, after all, so it would be really helpful to have Mendeley use the label "Number" instead of "Issue" when it creates the BibTeX file.
Otherwise I am really thrilled. This is what I was hoping and waiting for!

Looks very promising - glad to see this is really happening! I still don't understand why Mendeley INSISTS on using "Issue" instead of "Number" -- this is the standard in my set-up in BibDesk and Lyx and I can't get Mendeley to change that. Which means, all the journal entries won't work. This has been an issue for many months now. Is there no way to change the labels in the references in Mendeley? Would that be really hard to implement?

I really want to switch to Mendeley, but given my LaTeX workflow (Lyx, BibDesk) I cannot switch yet. When you say "planned" - what exactly does that mean?

Am I really the only person who has this problem? Mendeley insists on using the label "Number" instead of "Issue" when it creates the BibTeX file. The resulting BibTeX file does not work correctly when I reference journal articles, as the information for the issue number is labeled incorrectly and therefore is not included in the bibliography. I used the standard set-up in Lyx and when I created the PDF, all the issue numbers were missing in the references. I cannot imagine that I am really the only person with this problem?
