A Zotero-to-Mendeley sync functionality will be included in the next release.

I am withdrawing my votes from this ticket and putting them in "Zotero 2 way sync". Functionality to allow Mendeley to siphon off Zotero users with single-direction "sync" is not the kind of compatibility or partnership that I had in mind.

Just wanted to reiterate. I'm happy to see progress in this area, but my feature request is for two-way sync.

Ideally this would take the form of an open API that Endnote, RefWorks, or any other package could support if they so chose.

I'd like to see as tight integration as possible. Including automatic synchronization of one's collections, sharing/networking across services. If a colleague is using Zotero, I want to be able to collaborate with them easily. No walled gardens.

We’re getting closer to version 1.0 and will offer premium accounts with more upload space and more shared collection members soon. As mentioned in our newsletter we are giving away more space for free as long as we don’t offer these accounts. Should you have a exceeded the standard limit once there are premium accounts any documents you have uploaded past this 500MB quota will still be accessible, however you will not be able to upload any new document files until you do upgrade.
You can find more information about our offer to increase the upload space here: http://www.mendeley.com/blog/academic-features/feeling-boxed-in/ – and about increasing the number of shared collection members here: http://www.mendeley.com/faq/#shared-collection-members.

This ticket covers several features – some are implemented and some are not yet. To make things clearer please create new suggestions for specific problems with PDF attachment links.

Sebastian: Exactly. I don't want to be locked into using just Mendeley or Zotero. Neither do I want to be restricted in which other researchers I can collaborate with.
